Meet the team

Rhiannon Wright, Assistant Headteacher at Halterworth Primary School and Lead Mentor for HTSP
Throughout my professional career, I have always welcomed opportunities to work in partnership with colleagues across schools. I am a Specialist Leader in Education supporting colleagues to improve English and assessment and have hosted numerous ITT students during my time as a class teacher. Through leading the Halterworth Training School, alongside Amber, I am delighted to support new teachers grow and develop their own passion for education and supporting our young people.

Amber Webb, Year 5 Teacher at Halterworth Primary School and Mentor for HTSP
I have worked as a teacher in Hampshire for nine years, teaching across both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2. I completed my teacher training through the University of Winchester, and throughout my career I have continued to strive to develop my own practice every day. I have previously led both Religious Education and Science and have experienced an Ofsted deep dive in Science. Alongside my classroom role, I coach teachers and teaching assistants, mentor trainees on this course, and thoroughly enjoy supporting others to grow in their teaching journey. I now also run training sessions for trainee teachers through HTSP, where I am able to impart knowledge, share experience, and support the development of new practitioners. What I love most about teaching is the challenge and variety each day brings, as well as the privilege of getting to know children and seeing them develop not only academically but also as individuals.
Matt Lowden, Academic Liaison Tutor, University of Winchester
I have been a Senior Lecturer at the University of Winchester since 2015 and have been allied to the Halterworth Training School Partnership throughout that time. I work on both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programmes and really enjoy engaging with the next generation of teachers. Prior to joining the University, I spent 20 years in Primary schools across Hampshire, the last eight of which were in headship. It is a privilege to be able to engage in the learning process of so many students and help them to become responsible, committed practitioners.
